WHY WELC? Established in 1967, our school is a family run English language school located in the heart of Waterford city. With over 40 years of experience, we believe that learning a language cannot be confined to the classroom and we pride ourselves on integrating our students as much as is possible into the cultural and social life of Waterford. Therefore, our accredited and experienced teachers not only impart their classes using text books and grammatical rules, but giving advice to the students and teaching them to live and practice the language in a natural way, what makes learning easier. Listening, speaking, reading and writing are the essential language skills which all students need to improve, additionally in WELC we teach how live and know the language and the Irish culture, making easier learning English. Our Washington Lodge year-round campus is only a short walk from Waterford city-centre with its numerous department stores, restaurants, cafes, libraries, cinemas, sports facilities, hotels, parks, shopping centres, nightclubs, churches, theaters and beaches.

I really enjoyed school.The host family is very nice,I had a good relationship with them. The lessons and teachers are basically good. I didn't need preparations for ILTS but had to take them,because there wasn't another class.They were too difficult for me. It was not often but sometimes I couldn't get the right answers from teacher. I really appreciate school stuff, Bridget her husband and daughter their friendship and hospitality. It was a good experience to have friends from many countries.

I studied an eighteen-week adult English course in WELC. Waterford is a great place because is smaller than Dublin, Cork or Galway and it's definitely more affordable than them. The school is really good, it's like a family. It has friendly and experimented teachers, professional and efficient staff and a good mix of student's nationalities. They have a great methodology so you enjoy learning English. I'm absolutely grateful with the school, it's in my opinion a highly recommended English centre

The school is seatted in a beautiful area in Waterford. I loved studying there. I met wonderful people, wonderful atmosphere, wonderful teachers. They are extremely porfessional and they stimulate students to have a social life outside the school too.
